Digital Camera: Images

Pure Digital’s first product was a one-time-use digital still camera that you had drop off at a photo finisher (mostly drugstores) equipped to process the images. Many of those early customers requested a camera they could own — which led to the development of the Flip.
Screenshot of The Big Fisherman (1959), the first film released using the Super Panavision 70 process. The image shows the 2.20:1 aspect ratio in which the film was presented. The next step in the evolution of the digital cinema camera ... involved collaboration between Sony and Panavision; this time, Panavision participated in all stages of development. The aim was to create a system that could use the entire range of the company's 35 mm spherical lenses. This led to the 2004 introduction of the Genesis HD—a full bandwidth (4:4:4) HD SDI camera with improved colorimetry- and sensitometry-related specs. Its Super 35 mm film–sized recording area made it focally compatible with regular 35 mm lenses, giving it a true 35 mm depth of field.[32][33] The camera's electronics—including its CCD (charge-coupled device) image sensor—and HDCAM SR record deck were manufactured by Sony. The chassis and mechanics were designed by a Panavision team led by Albert Mayer Jr., son of the Panaflex designer.[32] The Genesis was first used on Flyboys (2006);[34] Scary Movie 4 (2006), shot afterward, went into general release first because of the extensive visual effects work needed to complete Flyboys.[35] Subsequent to the completion of major design work on the Genesis, Panavision bought out Sony's 49 percent share of DHD Ventures and fully consolidated it in September 2004.[36]
Panasonic’s new digital single-lens reflex camera (SLR), the DMC-L10, features 2.5-inch LCD screen with 270 degree rotation, a 10.1MP Live MOS sensor. Its Dust reduction technology uses the integrated Supersonic Wave Filter system to prevent dust from attaching to the sensor. It possesses superb image processor, Venus Engine III, Four Thirds system for its lens mount high quality image rendering and exciting true to life pictures. Other features include advanced Face Detection and Intelligent ISO Control function, enhanced contrast AF system and Extra Optical Zoom with variable aspect ratios 4:3, 3:2 and 16:9 according to the situation.
According to digital-camera reviews, HP is ... making a nice point-and-shoot camera, the HP PhotoSmart R927 (*est. $225) . This 8.2-megapixel camera has a larger-than-average 3-inch LCD, but no optical viewfinder, so all your shots will be framed using the LCD. Reviewers like the camera's image quality, and testers are particularly impressed with its in-camera photo-editing options. A built-in Design Gallery can add effects such as Cartoon and Slimming to images. The Slimming feature actually allows you to shave the waistline of your subject in the image. A nice panorama mode lets users stitch together as many as five separate shots.
Digital Cameras.com Like the traditional film camera, the digital camera uses light to create images. The film camera allows light from the scene to pass through the lens exposing the film inside. The light causes a chemical reaction on the film creating a latent image. The exposed film is then removed and sent through a chemical process which results in permanent images... known as negatives, that can be printed into pictures using yet another chemical process.
"Demand for the Nikon Coolpix 900s digital camera has exceeded our most optimistic forecasts. As a result, the Coolpix 900s is sold out. This unprecedented demand was driven in part by numerous industry awards, uniformly excellent product reviews and rousing word-of-mouth from consumers and imaging professionals. When the Coolpix 900 was named the #1 digital camera of 1998 by a leading independent product testing organization, sales accelerated still further.
