Digimon
built 87 days ago
The original Digimon was a virtual pet created by Bandai of Japan in June of 1997. After the success of the Japanese virtual pet, Tamogotchi, in 1996, Bandai decided to create a Tamogotchi toy for boys. The Digimon virtual pet needed to be cared for like a real pet, and could battle with another kids Digimon by linking the two units together. Records of wins and losses were stored and kids enjoyed proving that they could raise a better Digimon pet than their neighbor. Over time and with proper care, the Digimon pet could grow up and evolve into other, more powerful Digimon.

The Digimon section is one of the oldest and most popular of LELOLA. Most of it was created when the English dub was first airing on North American television for the first time. This section doesn't claim to be comprehensive, nor does it claim to be the most accurate Digimon website in existence. Instead, it exists to act as a time capsule of that time when Digimon captured the hearts, minds, and most of all, the imaginations of a generation. Today, Digimon continues to flourish. Maybe this section will give you some clue as to how a show about digital monsters came to mean so much more to so many people, and how it continues to inspire its fans to this very day.

Every Digimon has unique strengths and weaknesses, and the battle cards [1] shows the specific ways players can use their monsters to defeat an enemy. Like MewTwo and other psychic Pokemon, many transmit supernatural power. Some can evolve or transform (a Native American shaman might call it "shape-shifting").You can watch a few of these transformations at toy maker Bandai's website.

One of the most controversial fundamentals of Digimon is the worshipping of goggles, something that Godmon said that all leaders of a regional faction must wear. However, many of these future leaders worshipped Radioactive Man (whose "My eyes! The goggles do nothing!" speech is comparable to the Gettysburg Address and one million positions above "Come Sail Away," "The Final Countdown," and the Diff'rent Strokes theme song), long before this, putting them in a digital ocean of oxymorons. However, Tai Kamiya (whose real last name was "Yagami" but Kim Jong-Il changed it), the first "true" leader and prime assistant to Geddy Lee and his Rush bandmates in the anti-Muhammad Crusades, listened to the Digital Almighty's words. This obviously made the Radioactive Man freaks only somewhat unhappy, and burned three 2112 LPs in protest.

File Island was once a bustling place, where Digimon gathered, talked, and lived in peace. Suddenly, File Island is abandoned, and the Digimon can no longer speak. You have been sucked into the Digiworld to find out what is happening. The first step on that quest is to train a Digimon. Feed it, rest it, and take your new friend to the toilet. Whenever something needs to be done, it will let you know with convenient thought balloons.
