While both Pokémon and Digimon are wild creatures and display a degree of instinctual behavior, Digimon are anthropomorphized, possessing human speech and individuality. For example, in the Pokémon franchise, a Pokémon only does evil things if their trainer commands them to, while in the Digimon franchise, there are many Digimon that have decided to become evil of their own accord (Devimon, for example). While some Pokémon may show some individuality, it is nothing compared to the range that Digimon exhibit. With exceptions not limited to Team Rocket's Meowth and certain legendary Pokémon (including Mewtwo), all Pokémon can only speak their name (or syllables thereof) and are incapable of normal speech. Trainers are able to understand their Pokémon to some extent; the Pokémon can understand human speech, most notably orders from their trainers.

Digimon is most highly praised by its fans for its basis on reality. In 1992 scientists succesfully converted data into a real animal. The technology was later used to make dinosaurs for Jurassic Park. Soon the Digimon gained sentience and demanded equality from their opressors. Liberal groups immedately responded by hugging trees and turning millions of college students into zombies. The worst of these is an obese man-woman named Michael Moore who mostly lives on the Internet now, whining to his friends.

The Digimon online role-playing game features Digimon and human characters who roam around an online universe and battle each other to gain power. Currently, the game is only available from a Korean server, so the entire game is in Korean. To be able to play Digimon in English, you need to download and install an unofficial English-language patch.

Digimon are mystical creatures from an island in digiworld. Seven kids, Tai, Matt, Sora, Mimi, Joe, Izzy, and T.K. are launched into this island where they meet the digimon. The digimon include Agumon, Tentomon, and a lot of others.

When you degenerate a Digimon, Aptitude is added to it. This raises the level limit of the given Digimon that was degenerated, although the level limit raising fluctuates based on the Digimon type. This will allow you to level-up your Digimon to higher levels... making them much more powerful.

Gatomon was originally seen as a villain; a slick, streetwise and clever henchman of Myotismon who recruited tough Digimon for his army when he went to Earth. Once on Earth, Gatomon went around with a copy of the eighth child's crest, trying to find said child and curry favour with Myotismon (or save her own skin). This put her at odds with Demidevimon, who was ... trying to find the child.
