Diclofenac: Pains
built 635 days ago
DICLOFENAC Diclofenac belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It works by blocking the production of a group of chemicals (prostaglandins) that are normally produced by the body in response to injury or certain diseases. These prostaglandins would otherwise go on to cause swelling, pain and inflammation. By blocking prostaglandins, diclofenac relieves swelling, pain and inflammation.

Diclofenac Potassium, like other NSAIDs, may cause serious CV side effects, such as MI or stroke, which may result in hospitalization and even death. Although serious CV events can occur without warning symptoms, patients should be alert for the signs and symptoms of chest pain, shortness of breath, weakness, slurring of speech, and should ask for medical advice when observing any indicative sign or symptoms. Patients should be apprised of the importance of this follow-up (see WARNINGS: Cardiovascular Effects).

Diclofenac is designed to relieve the symptoms of arthritis in people who are ... prone to ulcers. It contains diclofenac, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) for control of the inflammation, swelling, stiffness, and joint pain associated with rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. However, since NSAIDs can cause stomach ulcers in susceptible people, Diclofenac also contains misoprostol, a synthetic prostaglandin that serves to reduce the production of stomach acid, protect the stomach lining, and thus prevent ulcers.
Diclofenac is used to relieve pain, swelling (inflammation), and joint stiffness caused by arthritis. Reducing these symptoms helps you do more of your normal daily activities. This medication is known as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID).

Diclofenac is one of the most prominent representatives of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) used in the treatment of rheumatic disorders and other pain and inflammation-related conditions. NSAIDs exhibit antipyretic, analgesic, central antinociceptive effects and anti-inflammatory properties by efficiently inhibiting cyclooxygenase activity in a reversible manner and ... decreasing prostaglandin synthesis.
