At ease ... Diana Krall was at her evocative best. This was a much more involving concert than Diana Krall offered three years ago. She seemed more at ease, both in her own skin and on the stage. She has improved as a singer, has some fine new songs and a band of the highest calibre.

Diana Krall: ''The Very Best'' "I wanted to make these songs sound like they were written yesterday," Diana Krall says of the 15 essential performances that comprise The Very Best of Diana Krall, her first-ever best-of release. The collection distills highlights from Krall's first decade and a half as a recording artist, during which time the Canadian-born singer/pianist's cool, expressive vocals and sensitive, soulful piano work have won her international stardom.
Jazz singer Diana Krall will perform April 5 at the Alys Stephens Center, according to Pollstar. Although the venue hasn't officially announced Krall's booking, the show's date coincides with that of the Starlight Gala, an annual fundraiser at the performing arts center in Birmingham.

October 17, 2003 - Sources close to Elvis Costello are leaking news that the singer plans to marry Jazz diva Diana Krall in the next few weeks. The legal side of it was signed at the Marylebone Town Hall in London so the couple can marry anytime after October 29th. Sources say the wedding will probably be in early November and that the couple is considering the posh London Hotel Claridges as a venue. The two met at the Grammy's last year.
Krall's first recording remains an eye and ear opener. Without the overt schmaltz, Krall proves a sincere singer and, more so, a fine pianist whose talent in this area would later become sublimated.
