Diana Krall is one of the most singular and prolific female jazz singers of the modern era. As a jazz pianist and vocalist, Krall is practically unmatched in terms of name recognition, sheer talent, and precociousness. She was born in British Columbia. Her family loved to play and listen to music. She was taught piano at the tender age of four, and she began to play jazz in junior high school.

Both her father, who collected jazz records and played a bit of stride piano, and her mother (... a pianist) encouraged her interest in jazz and exposed her to all of the great players. She began studying the piano at age 4 and had several small jazz groups while in high school. When she was 17, she played at the Vancouver International Jazz Festival and won a scholarship to Boston's Berklee School of Music.

Diana krall was born on the 16th of November 1964, Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada. Brought up in a musically oriented family she would teach herself to play Fats Waller recordings. She would not only learn to play the tune but to sing all the song at the same time. She was taught to play the piano during school time but the Jazz came out when she played along with the school band. The first gig came at the age of 15 and has been touring and playing since then. After successfully winning a scholarship in Jazz at Berklee College of music she returned home to carry on her playing career.
