Diablo Ii: Characters

Diablo II: Lord of Destructionscreenshot The Diablo II expansion makes several key aesthetic enhancements to the game. Most notably, it now lets you play in 800x600 resolution, up from 640x480. Though the higher resolution setting adversely affects performance on systems that approach the minimum requirements for Diablo II, for all the rest, this yields a threefold benefit: It cleans up the graphics by making all the characters slightly smaller and ... less pixilated, it cleans up and reduces the size of the onscreen interface bar, and it literally provides a tactical advantage by letting you see more of your surroundings at any given time. Once you try the game in the higher resolution, you'll have a difficult time going back to the standard setting. Besides this, Diablo II: Lord of Destruction includes an excellent new symphonic score for the fifth act and impressive high-quality cinematic sequences for the introduction and ending of the new act.
Diablo II ... uses the concept of undecidable figures to represent the "Arcane Sanctuary" level, since it is an extradimensional, magical construct of the wizard Horazon. Players are able to walk on a flat surface and find their characters below their starting point, similar to M. C. Escher's woodblock print Waterfall. The algorithm for impossible geometry was not difficult to achieve; instead, the program sees the level as a plane and the visual representations do the work of creating this effect. The level plays with and takes advantage of the limits of isometric projection.
Expanding over four unique locations, Diablo II offers very diverse experiences throughout the quad of acts you will undertake during your adventure. Each town has advantages over the others, while ... having it's weaknesses. Experience each in full animation and sound, as each town has custom graphics, structures, non-player characters, and countless other doo-dads only adding to the look and feel of a real-time experience in role-playing. Within this section are unique and very detailed reports on the many aspects of each town.

Mysterious World-event: Players of Hell difficulty Realm games are hereby warned that a new, challenging world-event has been added to Diablo II version 1.10. Players of Hardcore characters should be even more wary when encountering superunique monsters during an active world event. Be prepared to execute a hasty Save and Exit, if your situation seems too dangerous.
