Heathland at Woodbury Common in southeast Devon Devon is the name of a variety of ham, which (presumably) comes from Devon. In New South Wales, Australia, Devon is a name for luncheon meat (processed ham). The name changes in different states of Australia (for example, 'Fritz' in South Australia, 'Polony' in Western Australia) but all describe the same type of meat.
Devon is an accomplished horse-rider and competes in show-jumping events all over Ireland. When he’s not “mucking about” with horses he likes to expend his energy Motor Cross and Quad biking. To relax, Devon likes to hang out with his friends, listen to music and play computer games.

The ship Charity brought a consignment of red cattle (one bull and three heifers) from Devonshire to Edward Winslow, the agent for Plymouth Colony. These red cattle of Devonshire, brought in by the Pilgrims, were probably the first purebred cattle to reach North America.
