While its ratings have declined over the years, it is still one of the highest rated anime on Japanese television.

The "Detective Conan" anime series, better known as "Cased Closed" around these parts, is very popular in Japan as in many parts of the world. And a good number of fans are excited now that the chibi-fied detective is coming to the Nintendo Wii.

In Japan, a new theatrical movie of Detective Conan is released every year in April during Golden Week. Also, regular appearances of one-hour specials as well as the yearly two-hour New Year special define the series.

Detective Conan is something of an institution in Japan. A clever, stylish mystery series for children, there are now 37 volumes of manga, 6 movies, and nearly 300 TV episodes. The Phantom of Baker Street is the sixth movie. Sadly, it falls prey to insanity.

Detective Conan is coming to the Wii and might be closing up the gap between Japanese and US games. You can watch the trailer to the game here. The character is already made famous by his animated series and manga comic books as a "Quantum Leap sans Ziggy"-like victim who has been shrunk down to little-boy size only to solve mysteries that surround the people who made him so small.

The 9th movie for Detective Conan will be released next year by April 29th to May 5th during the Golden Week in Japan. It will probably be based on an Ocean theme due to the preview shown~
