On Desperate Housewives, vicious rumors are spreading like good ol’ Christmas cheer. The neighborhood is up in arms about Art, a potential pedophile in their midst, who creepily comes to the Wisteria Lane block party in full Santa regalia. Needless to say, no one wants to sit on his lap. Later, when the neighborhood ninnies get together to stage a not-so-neighborly protest in front of Art’s house, his crippled sister has a heart attack. Lynette, who had been trying to stop the picketers, feels major guilt for Art’s sister’s death. When Art tells Lynette that he’s moving, she feels even more mixed emotions.

Last week on Desperate Housewives, one new hot guy moved into Wisteria Lane, Edie's nephew Austin McCann (played by Josh Henderson). Julie saw him but was not that impressed with his strutting around shirtless.

After last week’s supermarket shootout on Desperate Housewives, the residents of Wisteria Lane seemed to be doing A-OK, all things considered. Lynette returns from the hospital, convinced that new neighbor Art is her savior. The twins are nonplussed about her brush with a bullet, but Parker won’t let her out of his sight. When Lynette summons Art to help rid her son of his fear, the new guy on the block reveals his superhero “secret identity,” Protector Man. Later, as a grateful Lynette brings Parker (and a cake) to Art’s house for a proper thank-you, Art’s other identity is revealed -- Pedophile Man. It seems that Lynette might now have the job of neighborhood watchdog, as she sits on her porch during her time off from work.
