The Department of Corrections continually seeks to improve the site for these purposes. As part of Governor Doyle's Sex Offender Apprehension and Felony Enforcement (SAFE) Initiative, beginning on December 1, 2005, the site displays the current reported residence address of registered sex offenders who are in the community.

The department provides historical reports, analysis, presentations and other documents on the DOC website. In addition to making these documents available to the public, access on the website reduces state employee time and state copying/mailing expenditures formerly necessary to distribute these reports to the public.

As disclosed in DOC's summary schedule of prior audit findings, DOC fully corrected 2 of the 5 prior Single Audit findings. The remaining 3 findings are addressed in this report (Findings 2, 3, and 7).

Missouri bill HB620 put forth by Republican Rep. James V. Froelker, requires the Department of Health to develop recommendations on methods of reducing medication errors. "The methods include increasing prescription legibility, developing medication error reporting plans, minimizing the confusion in prescription drug labeling and packaging, and increasing patient education concerning prescribed medications."
