The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is facing a lawsuit for granting $97,000 to a faith-based marriage counseling center. Prior to certification, applicants qualify on the basis of their experience and accomplishments in the field of corrections. Then they must successfully complete a comprehensive examination that tests their knowledge as a corrections executive. The CCE designation is an indication of demonstrated professionalism involving such activities as supervising human resources, demonstrating leadership skills, managing change and general knowledge concerning the field of corrections.
