Dental hygiene is about more than a pretty smile and fresh breath. Untreated infections can cause major problems and in some cases, result in death. A 12-year-old Maryland boy died earlier this year because his mother could not find a dentist who would accept Medicaid.Norfolk City Councilman Paul Riddick heard the boy's story and decided to do something about it.Riddick called the Colgate company, which has a special team of dentists who travel the country checking kids teeth and teaching them good dental care.
