Denise Richards was a model-turned-actress when she got her breakthrough role as fresh-faced heartthrob Carmen Ibanez in the sci-fi film Starship Troopers (1997, based on the Robert A. Heinlein book). She then shared a much-talked-about kiss with Neve Campbell in Wild Things (1998) and played Dr. Christmas Jones opposite Pierce Brosnan in the James Bond movie The World Is Not Enough (1999). Though her career seemed to stall after the turn of the century, Richards has kept in the public eye thanks to her on-again, off-again relationship with actor Charlie Sheen. Her other film roles include Undercover Brother (2002, with Dave Chappelle), Love Actually (2003, starring Hugh Grant), Scary Movie 3 (2003, with Pamela Anderson), and Edmond (2005, with William H. Macy).

Denise Richards has said things in the past sounding like she wants to be taken more seriously as an actress, and wants to become the type that can win an Oscar. She's been cast in mostly "eye candy" roles. So what does she do? She goes out and does "Blonde and Blonder" and now a movie where she'll play a stripper. It IS an Indie, so maybe the stripper will have a well developed character and Ms. Richards will have a chance to work on developing her acting. It could work - many consider Angelina Jolie's breakout movie to be Gia, where she gave a fine dramatic performance as the troubled supermodel.

Born February 17, 1971 in a Chicago suburb, Richards moved with her family to San Diego at the age of twelve. Following a modeling stint in New York (which was of limited success due to Richards' 5' 6" height), Richards moved to Los Angeles to try her hand at acting. She found work in shows such as Doogie Howser, MD and Saved By the Bell before getting her first break in 1993 as Ben Affleck's girlfriend in the short-lived Against the Grain.
