Desperate not to be viewed as yet another prettily packaged product straight off the Erinsborough pop production line, Delta Goodrem's debut Innocent Eyes is a somewhat serious affair for a Neighbours star. Keen to let the world know she's no Nina Tucker, Delta's PR team likes to emphasise how she signed to Sony Australia two years before joining the soap and how she cowrote the majority of the tracks on the album. This push for authenticity results in a top-heavy and repetitive array of piano and orchestral tracks on the album. Only after multiple plays does the brilliance and complexity of some of the tracks become apparent. However her dazzling voice does shine through right from the start.

Australian singer/actor Delta Goodrem was hospitalized Friday in Sydney after being diagnosed with Hodgkin's disease, a treatable form of lymphatic cancer. The 18-year-old Sony Music artist has had a hectic schedule promoting her new Epic album, "Innocent Eyes," which is currently No. 1 in Australia, and bowed last week on the U.K. album chart at No. 2.

Since signing with Sony Music when she was only fifteen years old, Delta Goodrem has found herself at the centre of public interest and attention. Following her popular role on TV series Neighbours, Delta released her debut album 'Innocent Eyes' in 2003, which went on to become the biggest selling album in Australia that year, as well as reaching the high echelons of the UK album charts. The album spawned a string of #1 singles including 'Born To Try', 'Lost Without You', 'Innocent Eyes', 'Not Me, Not I' and 'Predictable', and Delta went on to win seven Aria Awards that year after spending 29 weeks at the top of the charts. In 2004, following a diagnosed illness that was intensely followed by the media, Delta released her second album 'Mistaken Identity' - another #1 album in Australia. The album produced further #1 singles, 'Out Of The Blue' and 'Almost Here'.
Australian pop phenom Delta Goodrem became an overnight sensation in her home country thanks to her role on the TV serial Neighbours, which ... boosted the careers of Kylie Minogue, Natalie Imbruglia, and Holly Valance. Goodrem was born on September 11, 1984, and grew up in Melbourne, where she started acting for television at age seven. She also took classical piano lessons, and began writing her own songs at age 12. She quickly recorded a five-song demo and sent it to her favorite football team, the Sydney Swans. They in turn passed it along to their high-profile fan Glenn Wheatley, who'd managed successful acts like the Little River Band. Wheatley took an interest in the young singer and helped her land a deal with Sony at the mere age of 15.

Australian singer/actress Delta Goodrem got her start on the popular soap opera Neighbours, and parlayed her fame from the show into a singing career. Her first album, the million-plus-selling Innocent Eyes, arrived in 2003 and featured songs co-written by pop songwriters such as Cathy Dennis. At that time, Goodrem was splitting her time between Neighbours and her pop career, but her diagnosis of Hodgkin's lymphoma forced her to slow down and re-evaluate her life. The direction for what was to become her next batch of songs came from Goodrem's physical and mental therapy.

This is a creative and sexy style for Delta from the 33rd Annual American Music Awards. Textured layers have been cut around the mid-lengths and ends to create body and shape and are easy to maintain with regular trims.
