The Delmarva Shorebirds are a Class A minor league baseball team affiliated with the Baltimore Orioles. The Shorebirds play their home games at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium in Salisbury, Maryland. The Shorebirds play in the South Atlantic League. The team mascot is Sherman the Shorebird. The team is currently owned by 7th Inning Stretch LP. The name "Shorebirds" refers to the marine waterfowl of the region.

The Delmarva Shorebirds have blasted onto the National scene with an outstanding performance in the highly competitive Florida event held this past weekend in Cocoa Beach. The Shorebirds finished 2nd in the 2007 Presidents Day Challenge. The Shorebirds are made up of players from the Delmarva peninsula (Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia). They play mainly USSSA tournaments. They have placed in the top 5 in the USSSA National Tournament 3 years in a row. Their team competes very well with many of the top teams in the country.

November 7, 2001 - Comcast-Spectacor, owner and operator of the Delmarva Shorebirds, the Class A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, has been awarded the Bob Freitas Organization of the Year Award for all of Class A baseball, it was announced today. The Shorebirds took home the award, the most prestigious award in all of Minor League Baseball, out of a possible 50 Single A teams eligible for the honor.

The Augusta GreenJackets continued their winning ways as they defeated the Delmarva Shorebirds 10-2 Friday night at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium. GreenJackets second baseman Eugenio Velez, who went 2-5, crushed two homeruns on the night. Augusta outfielder Ben Copeland reached base in four of his five at bats, scoring four of the GreenJackets 10 runs. Shorebirds designated hitter Vito Chiaravalloti continued his outstanding hitting, going 2-4 with two doubles and a run scored. Eight of nine GreenJackets reached base on hits. Augusta reliever Buck Cody struck out the side in the ninth to clinch the victory, the GreenJackets 10th in their past 11 games.

The first place Charleston RiverDogs, 7-1 in the month of May and 19-10 overall, are back in action tonight starting at 6:35pm against the Delmarva Shorebirds. Delmarva (14-16) defeated Kannapolis in a pitchers duel yesterday 2-1. Tonight the RiverDogs will put Jason Hammel on the mound, 2-2 on the year, against the worst hitting team in the league for the month of May. In addition, Colt Simmons will attempt to continue his league leading 19 game hit streak. Damali has performed in concert for Salisbury University, Delmarva Shorebirds, The Globe Theatre, for civic organizations, including Urban Salisbury, Women Supporting Women and at events, including the Salisbury Festival and Global Awareness Day at Salisbury School. Damali has performed at several restaurants from Wilmington , De to Ocean City, Md.
