Dead Sea Scrolls: Exhibit
built 642 days ago
Since their discovery the Dead Sea Scrolls have lived up to their expectation of captivating audiences...audiences of historians that is. The scrolls are heading to California where it is expected that huge crowds will flock to see the artifacts. In the homeland of flash and bang entertainment it's hard to imagine that the exhibit will meet curators' expectations.

The first part of the exhibit is an eye-popping tour of Jerusalem and the Dead Sea area that sets the context for the scrolls. Sound seeps in — birds twittering, sheep gently lowing, trickling water. Dramatic lighting brings large aerial photographs of the Holy Land to life.

One of the highlights early in 2007 in Kansas City will be the exhibit on the Dead Sea Scrolls (Feburary 8 - May 13) located at Union Station. This is a unique opportunity to see a piece of ancient history.

It is an exhibit of the Dead Sea Scrolls, and it's just a short trip away in San Diego. The exhibit ends its six-month run at the Museum of Natural History in Balboa Park on Dec. 31.

During this time, San Diego visitors will have the opportunity to view the largest display of the Dead Sea Scrolls outside of Israel. In addition, other Balboa Park cultural institutions will be featuring themed exhibits in conjunction with this internationally recognized exhibit.
