Dead or Alive 4(DOA4) is the fourth game in Team Ninja's famous Dead or Alive series. It was released on December 29, 2005. Itagaki has said that Helena would be the main character of the game, becoming CEO of DOATEC.
Taking advantage of the superior technology of Xbox 360, Dead or Alive 4 offers the defining gaming experience on the next-generation console. The game encompasses all that Xbox 360 has to offer, giving you the most rewarding digital fighting to date on any videogame console. Dead or Alive 4 once again raises the bar in both online and offline fighting. By utilizing the advanced technology of Xbox 360 hardware, the game redefines 3-D high-definition graphics and sound, creating one of the most visually beautiful and realistic-looking video games available. Unsurpassed online capabilities via Xbox Live, incredible new interactive stages, an all-star lineup of old and new favorite characters, and a complex DOA countering system all combine to create a must-have video game for Xbox 360.

"The Dead or Alive series from TECMO is one of the most popular fighting franchises created, and it is a great honor for Shanda to partner with TECMO on the game's online version. DOA ONLINE will be developed on both PC and Shanda's EZ Platform. Its gamepad support will deliver to users a fantastic console gaming experience," said Tianqiao Chen, Chairman and CEO of Shanda. "By leveraging our strong operating platform and advanced come-stay-pay revenue model, we are confident that DOA ONLINE has the potential to achieve great success in China. In the future, the two parties will continue to actively seek cooperative opportunities in online entertainment-related fields."
Dead Or Alive 3 is a stunning technical achievement. Even in 2005, years after the game was first introduced, it boasts some of the best graphics on the Xbox. The backgrounds are vibrant with color, and the destructibility and interarctiveness of the environments almost harkens to the seminal Power Stone. The question is, is there more to Dead Or Alive 3 than the beautiful visuals, or is it merely a simple button-masher?

Dead_Or_Alive_3.jpg In development for many months and released at the time of the console's launch, Dead or Alive 3 is ... intended to show off the technical prowess of the Xbox. Many feel that the console's potential for pumping out eye-candy was first publicly realized in a DOA3 demonstration at the 2001 E3 convention, which featured battles taking place on a peaceful sylvan path with hundreds of individual autumn leaves fluttering in the background, and on a foamy beach where seagulls swoop lazily through the sky. While the control and movement schemes in Dead or Alive have been the foundation of gameplay, the series is also known for its engaging presentation and this third release is designed to adhere to that standard as well. ~ T.J. Using the infamous Model 2 arcade board, Dead or Alive hit arcades worldwide in 1996. Although many would think that the game would share many similarities with Virtua Fighter 2 (which used the same board), it was quite the opposite. In fact, the game was completely different from Sega's masterpiece, and in a good way. The most obvious difference was Tecmo's decision to implement a counterhold system in Dead or Alive, instead of the conventional blocking system that all fighting games used. Of course, you could still block in DoA, but countering was a much more effective and worthwhile method. The other significant feature in the game was the Danger Zones.
