1. Day
   For the homeowner, Arbor Day is an excellent opportunity to take stock of the trees on your property and plan for the future. Inspect your trees. Note any broken branches or evidence of disease or insect infestation. Think about how planting new trees might improve the look of your property or provide wind or heat protection. Take a trip to your local nursery to see what's available and to get new ideas. Walk around your neighbourhood. Are there any public areas where tree planting or tree maintenance might make a real difference to your community? Talk with your neighbours. Find out what their opinions are. And, oh yes, plant a tree.
2. Day of Defeat
   Day of Defeat maps offer the player the ability to blast through certain parts of the map to gain entry into new sections. This offers a twist to normal map strategies. The sections are normally marked with a crack in the wall, which can be opened by either planting a bomb or by shooting a rocket at it.
3. Taoism -- Living
   Taoism's main precepts are "loyalty" and "filial piety". In practice, it calls on its faithful to "respect heaven, honour ancestors, and be compassionate to man and all things under heaven". In promoting the learning and cultivation of Tao, it adheres to the principles of liberty, equality and peace. Personal cultivation in Taoism has two aspects to it: Inner (内修) and Outer (外修). The Inner stresses a state of truth to and authenticity within one's self. The Outer requires one to be loyal, filial, benevolent and thrifty, all with the purpose of improving oneself and helping others.
4. Grandparents Day -- Schools
   Duke School held its fourth annual Grandparents Day for the Lower School on May 12th, 2005. Grandparents, other relatives and special friends gathered in the Lower School gym for registration and a continental breakfast. Sandy Gillespie, Acting Head of School, welcomed a crowd of 175. Kathy Bartelmay next displayed a wonderful power point presentation which beautifully captured the essence of a Duke School education. The assembly concluded with songs performed by Kindergartners & First Graders and by Third Graders.
5. Last Days -- Sounds
   "Last Days Of April come our way via Sweden, and Angel Youth is some of the sweetest melodic rock I've heard in a long time. You could easily call Last Days Of April orchestral rock, with their complex arrangements they pull off - not necessarily traditional either. They use a thick studio production on their mix that allows them to layer both vocals and instruments, providing a very lush sound. Most of the tracks have a dark, sad feeling throughout them, but they always manage to put in a ray of hope to avoid depression. Premium songwriting and very clever production thanks to Pelle Gunnerfeldt. It's amazing the way they have that sonic wall of sound and yet there are always melodies soaring in and out.
6. Last Days -- Albums
   The components of a Last Days Of May song are simple: a simple bass and drum groove, waves of reverbed guitar, and maybe some congas or samples. The occasional THWACK-thwack-thwack attacks from the drums and samples sound like percussion hits on a dub record. The lazy, echoing guitar parts by Karl Precoda, who used to be in the Dream Syndicate (the '80s guitar pop group, not the LaMonte Young drone group) would recall My Bloody Valentine or Slowdive if Precoda's guitar playing had been overdubbed more. Like the guitar work on late-period Bailter Space albums, Precoda¹s playing sounds like it¹s trying to fill more space than one guitar is capable of filling.
7. Day of Redemption -- Lord Jesus
   One day of rest in a week of hard work, according to the pattern of God's creation order, was a great gift of God to mankind in paradise. It was ... a great gift to God's people Israel. It still is a great gift of a caring and gracious Father in heaven through Jesus Christ to the New Testament church. Since the day of rest and worship is God's gift, mankind, and in the first place the church, should receive and accept this gift and use it to God's glory in the proper, God-willed way. Sanctification of the day of rest still results in sanctification of all the days of the week and, thus, of the entire life of those who believe. Desecration of the day of rest results in increasing desacration of the other days of the week and of one's entire life.
8. Garry Marshall -- Happy Days
   There aren't a lot of directors that are interesting in and of themselves, but Garry Marshall isn't one of them. Responsible for The Odd Couple, Happy Days, Laverne and Shirley and Mork and Mindy on teevee, regardless of what you may personally think, there are enough laughs there to keep Nick At Night stuffed until the year 3000. For over a decade, Marshall has been helming the director's chair and, in The Runaway Bride, reunites his Pretty Woman co-stars Julia Roberts and Richard Gere with perennial co-star and fellow StarTalk interviewee, Hector Elizondo.
9. Groundhog Day -- Bill Murray
   Groundhog Day was a huge success at the box office making a staggering $70.9 million in the US alone. The film won best original screenplay at the BAFTAs, and Bill Murray was nominated for best comedic performance at the MTV movie awards.
10. Saturday Night Live -- Shows
    The striking cast members and writers of NBC's 30 Rock and Saturday Night Live programs will present one-night-only live performances of the shows at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre this weekend. The (already) sold-out performances will benefit the Writers Guild strike fund.
