David Maloney [B]egan his professional Singer/Songwriter career over twenty-five years ago. For much of this time, he was one half of the highly acclaimed West Coast duo, Reilly & Maloney, releasing nine successful albums and touring with many national acts, ranging from Judy Collins to the Seattle Symphony. For the past decade he has been touring solo, with six solo albums to his credit. He has filled rooms from The Great American Music Hall (San Francisco) to the intimate folk stages of Passim's (Boston) and The Birchmere (Alexander, VA). Over the years, his songs have been featured on several networks, including ESPN, CBS and CNN. David wrote the music for Rick Foster's The Great Blight and premiered the one-man show in October of 1999.

David Maloney recently produced a 30-minute DVD movie documenting the 35-year history of the Kiwanis Club of Suburban Frederick. On behalf of the club, Maloney donated a copy to the Historical Society of Frederick County. “I am proud of the service provided by our club since 1972,” said Maloney, “and I am glad there is a place such as the Historical Society that can preserve this history of the contributions Kiwanis has made to Frederick County.” Making use of newspaper clippings and photographs contributed by club members and of a club history compiled by club member Ed Crawford, the movie is set to background music and presents in chronological order the activities, fundraisers and contributions the club has made over the years. Dedicated to those who passed away while members of the club, the DVD ... includes charter members, photographs of present members and a listing of the scores of organizations that have benefited over the years. David Maloney was appointed Director of the Historic Preservation Office (HPO) andas theState Historic Preservation Officer in October 2007. He has more than 25 years of experience in historic preservation, planning, and urban design in the District of Columbia. As the senior member of the professional staff, Mr. Maloney is extensively involved in all aspects of the preservation program, with lead responsibility for preservation planning and the review of major commercial and government projects downtown and in the Mall area. He is responsible for policy development and program management, and serves as a primary liaison with other government agencies.Mr. Maloney represents the Mayor on the National Capital Memorial Advisory Commission. Prior to joining the HPO in 1985, Mr. Maloney served for seven years as staff architect and program manager for the Pennsylvania Avenue Development Corporation, focusing on PADC's residential and historic preservation programs.
