David Bowie Eclipsed magazine DAVID BOWIE is all set for another London in-store signing session in September. David will be visiting the HMV store in Oxford Street, London on Monday 9th September at 11:00am for an hour. 150 tickets will be distributed via BowieNet. Below is the press release for this event:
As a young teen, Bowie was involved in a fight with his best friend/arch-nemesis over a girl they both liked. After a battle of epic proportions, Bowie was punched in the eye by his enemy, who was wearing the Ring of Power at the time. Being struck in the eye by the ring did..... absolutely nothing.
Angie Bowie recalled a good deal of occult activity during the subsequent LA period in 1975-76; it was ... clear that Bowie was vulnerable to the influence of sycophants and hangers-on while he was heavily into cocaine. It has been alleged that at this time he scribbled frantic cabbalistic calculations on his own correspondence, stored his own urine in a fridge, and was obsessed about preventing anyone else getting hold of his nail-clippings and hair-trimmings - as Marianne Faithfull saw. This sort of voodoo superstition - a fear that bodily waste could be used for evil purposes by occult enemies - may also be found in Crowley's more secret teachings.
In July 2004, while David was in pre-season training in Spain, an intruder scaled a wall at the Beckhams' home while carrying a can of petrol. Victoria and their children were in the house at the time, but security guards apprehended the man before he reached the house.

It seems to have been Bowie's then manager, Ken Pitt, who decided to play the gay card. He arranged for Jeremy, the only gay publication in Britain at the time, to publish an article about Bowie in January 1970. This was followed in 1972 by an interview for Melody Maker in which the singer stated, "Yes, of course I'm gay, and always have been." In a 1976 Playboy interview he declared himself bisexual, rather than gay.
