David Beckham and the LA Galaxy team arrived at the New Zealand airport and 500 natives showed up to greet them. (The LA Galaxy players aren't used to this kind of attention - they must be FLOORED by all the attention David brings them.) David received the official Maori greeting - pressing noses.

In the quarter-final against Portugal, Beckham was substituted following an injury shortly after half time and the England team went on to lose the match on penalties (3-1), the score having been 0-0 after extra time. After his substitution, Beckham was visibly shaken and emotional for not being able to play, being in tears at one point.

Already in the works is a 2008 Galaxy tour of Asia, where Beckham is wildly popular. A new team logo will be unveiled this summer and the Galaxy's owner is nearing a deal to slap a prime sponsor's name on its jerseys.
