IRL Menards Infiniti Pro Series�2003 champion Mark Taylor and Menards Infiniti Pro Series veteran Ed Carpenter will drive in the IndyCar Series full time this year, while Kosuke Matsuura and Darren Manning are newcomers to the IRL. Bryan Herta rejoins Andretti Green Racing in a full-time capacity, and Alex Barron rejoins Red Bull Cheever Racing. Buddy Rice, who had a number of rides in 2003, will be the substitute driver until Kenny Brack completes his rehabilitation from injuries suffered in the season finale in October.

Darren Manning begann seine Karriere 1985 als 10jähriger im Kartsport. 1992 stieg er in die Britische Formula First Winter Series in Brands Hatch ein und wurde zweiter. Von 1993 - 1995 ging Manning in die Britische Formula Vauxhall championship und beendete nach zwei Einzelsiegen das Championat als Zweiter. 1996 wechselte er in die Britische Formel 3 und fuhr zudem den Renault Spider Eurocup. 1998 fuhr Manning einige Rennen in der Japanische Formel 3 und 1999 wurde Manning Koreanischer Formel 3 GP Sieger und Meister der Japanische Formel 3.

- Sam Hornish Jr. and Darren Manning finished seventh and eighth, respectively, to lead the Toyota-powered contngent at Saturday’s Japan Indy 300 at Twin Ring Motegi. Toyota Atlantic graduate Dan Wheldon earned the victory after race-leader Tomas Scheckter ran out of gas on Lap 197 of 200.

Darren Manning, driver of the #14 ABC Supply Indy Car, is participating in the Rolex 24 at Daytona International Speedway's road course Jan. 27-28. He will be racing on the same track that the IRL IndyCar Series will use for their first Open Test of the year next week.
