Both Scott Dixon and Darren Manning will be returning for the IRL IndyCar series 2005 season with Target Chip Ganassi Racing. The team announced this week that it has exercised its option to extend Darren Manning�s driver agreement into the future. Terms of the agreement werel not disclosed. Scott Dixon signed a contact extension with the team this past May just prior to the Indianapolis 500.

It was something of a surprise earlier this week when Ganassi Racing announced that with immediate effect, Darren Manning would no longer be driving for the team. In what has been a very troubled season for the former Champions, Manning was ahead of team-mates Scott Dixon and Ryan Briscoe in the championship standings.

Scott Sharp, who ran into Darren Manning early in the race, struck Patrick and hit a turn-eight tire barrier on lap 47 to bring out a third caution. Carpenter stalled again on lap 55 to bring out a brief yellow.
