Danielle Fishel is in the news today as reports are surfacing that she was arrested Thursday morning on a drunk driving warrant. Officers stopped her car in Newport Beach shortly before 5:00 AM Thursday. She was released from jail a little while after she was arrested.

Hollywood actress Danielle Fishel began her television career with a small stint on Full House before breaking out in Boy Meets World. Gamers may be more familiar with her starring roles in the National Lampoon Dorm Daze movie franchise, but she has an extensive filmography. The same team behind the Dorm Daze films has created a videogame adventure called Gamebox 1.0 now available on DVD from Lionsgate Home Entertainment. Fishel stars in the film in a dual role. She is Kate, the girlfriend of the main character and videogame tester Charlie Nash (played by Nate Richert), and she is ... the digitized Princess in the videogame world.

Actress Danielle Fishel grew up in Yorba Linda, CA, as the daughter of a medical equipment salesman, and entered the limelight at age ten with an appearance in a doll commercial. Continued involvement in show business beckoned, and under the aegis of her mother's management, she landed a string of guest spots on network sitcoms during the very early '90s, then signed on as one of the regular cast members on the situation comedy Boy Meets World (1993-2000). On that program, Fishel played Topanga Lawrence, teenage girlfriend and then wife of the lead character (Ben Savage). She remained with the series for all of its seven seasons, and netted viewer loyalty for helping to evolve the character from a head-in-the-clouds preteen hippie to a thoughtful and mature young woman.

[A]fter her first appearance, the producers realized that Fishel added something special to the show, something that was missing before. From that point forward, Danielle Fishel would be a regular character, going on to star in 121 out of almost 160 episodes of the beloved show. Her character was the main love interest for the male star of the show, Cory Matthews. This was perhaps Fishel’s biggest break and the show stayed on the air for seven years, from 1993 to 2000.
