Dan Aykroyd: Night Live
built 634 days ago
Dan Aykroyd, the well-known Canadian actor in Temple of Doom as Al Weber, is being given the highest civilian medal in Canada: The Order of Canada. But Aykroyd's thoughts were not on his medal but on the Canadian soldiers in Yugoslavia. "My heart today is with Canadian air force personnel overseas and I'm thinking of them as I stand here" said Aykroyd at a media scrum after the ceremony. "The real heroes are the Canadian forces overseas and firemen and policemen because they put their lives on the line." He was at Rideau Hall alongside his wife Donna Dixon and parents. "It's wonderful to be recognized by the country that I love and have embraced since birth and that I will never leave," said Aykroyd.
Biography: Dan Aykroyd could easily assume the mantle of "hardest-working person in show business." One of the most innovative, active and versatile forces in the entertainment industry, he has achieved success as an Academy Award-nominated dramatic and comic actor, screenwriter, producer, director, musician and restaurant/nightclub/entertainment company owner.
