Super Bowl X: In the 10th Super Bowl the Cowboys were matched up against the Pittsburgh Steelers who were seeking their 2nd Lombardi Trophy in Miami. The game was close through out as the Cowboys held a 10-7 lead entering the 4th Quarter. However the game turned when Punter Mitch Hoopes's punt was blocked through the end zone. The Steelers would score on their next 3 possessions, caped by Lynn Swann's 64-yard TD reception. However the Cowboys would not go down without a fight, first after Roger Staubach hit Percy Howard with a 34 Yard TD pass. The Cowboys quickly got the ball back and had 1:22 left to pull out another miracle.

Last season for the Dallas Cowboys was bittersweet. On one hand, they managed to rebound from their poor 2004 season. However, they failed to make the playoffs, despite a 9-7 record, by one game. Their archenemy, Washington, picked up 10 wins and made it in. This season has been filled with movement, and the Cowboys are hoping they have the right mix for the 2006 season.

The Cowboys typical slow start hurt them at the end. The Giants took the opening possession and ran the ball right down the Cowboys throat. The Cowboy defense played poorly in the first half and the Cowboy offense played poorly in the second half. Marion Barber got his first start of the season and he ran wild, for the game he rushed 27 times for 129 yards and 1 TD, but most of his success was in the first half. The Cowboys got behind, and in the second half they couldn't run anymore, the offensive line was totally dominated by the Giants in the fourth quarter. That is basically the story of the game, the New York Giants defensive line totally and unequivocally destroyed the Cowboy offensive line in the fourth quarter.

In what has become a holiday tradition, for the past 10 years the Cowboys Thanksgiving Day game halftime show has officially launched the Red Kettle Christmas Campaign at the national level. Last year, the overall Red Kettle campaign raised a record $117 million, crossing the $1 billion mark of funds raised since the halftime show partnership began. Previous halftime performers have included Carrie Underwood, Sheryl Crow, Destiny's Child, Toby Keith, LeAnn Rimes, Creed, Jessica Simpson, Billy Gillman, Clint Black, Randy Travis and Reba McEntire.
Now that the Cowboys are in the NFL postseason, the whole city of Dallas will be trying to lasso themselves some Dallas Cowboys playoff tickets. The 'Boys will be taking on the best that the NFC has to offer in Texas Stadium, which is still one of the most exciting places to watch an NFL playoff game.
