In order to pay for the stadium, in November 2004, Arlington voters approved a tax increase to help Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones build the $1 billion stadium in the North Texas city. Voters approved a measure that would raise the city sales tax by a half-cent, hotel occupancy tax by 2 percent, and car rental tax by 5 percent. Work at the stadium site, near the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, home of the Texas Rangers, began in May 2006 as workers began to excavate the site. On February 6, 2011, the new Cowboys Stadium will host the biggest game in any sport, Super Bowl XLV.
In 1960, the Dallas Cowboys became the NFL's first successful new team since the collapse of the All-America Football Conference 10 years earlier. Clint Murchison Jr. was the new team's majority owner and his first order of business was to hire Tex Schramm as general manager, Tom Landry as head coach and Gil Brandt as player personnel director.
"The Dallas Cowboys have always sought to provide our coaches and players with innovative, forward-looking tools that give them every possible advantage before they ever take the field on game day," said Dallas Cowboys Owner and General Manager, Jerry Jones. "By working with Isilon, we have given our coaching staff an invaluable tool in the weekly race to analyze our upcoming opponent and develop a winning game plan."

"The Cowboys have a tremendous following in San Antonio, and these fans will be able to watch Cowboys' games throughout the season once they make the switch to AT&T U-verse," said Jerry Jones, owner and general manager of the Dallas Cowboys. "I believe that U-verse TV is one of the most exciting television choices available today, and certainly U-verse subscribers will be the most popular people on the block when the Cowboys play the Packers on Nov. 29 and the Panthers next month on NFL Network. They're going to make the neighbors jealous."

The team was first known as the Dallas Steers, then the Dallas Rangers before settling on the name "Cowboys" for the 1960 season. The new Dallas owners, Murchison and Wynne, subsequently hired Tex Schramm as general manager, Tom Landry as head coach, and Gil Brandt as player personnel director.[8] The Cowboys began play in the Cotton Bowl in 1960 and finished winless in their first season with a record of 0-11-1(with a tie vs the New York Giants). They made their first NFL draft selection the following year, choosing Texas Christian University defensive tackle Bob Lilly with the 13th pick in the draft.
Jay Glazer, of FOXSports.com, reports the Dallas Cowboys have agreed to a deal with free-agent LB Zach Thomas (Dolphins). Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Thomas flew to Indianapolis Friday, Feb. 22, to meet with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and president Stephen Jones. He could take a physical as early as Saturday, Feb. 23.
