NEW YORK (Reuters) - The team of the late NASCAR ace Dale Earnhardt has reached a confidential settlement with an insurer it said had refused to pay on a life insurance policy for the driver. Richard Childress Racing had sought $3.7 million from United of Omaha Life Insurance Co. in a lawsuit. The settlement ends a nearly month-long trial in the Superior Court in Davidson County in Lexington, North Carolina. Earnhardt, known as The Intimidator for his black No. 3 Chevrolet, was Nascar's 1979 Rookie of the Year and a seven-time Winston Cup series champion.
