According to comments made by Darrel Waltrip, Budweiser more than likely will NOT be the sponsor of Dale Earnhardt Jr's ride next year. However, D.W. did say that Junior's new sponsor would still be something you drink…but not in a red can.

In 1999, Earnhardt Jr. became the fourth driver in Busch Series history to repeat as champion, claiming the title on the back of six victories, 18 top fives and 22 top-10s. Also that season, Junior ran five times on the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup circuit in what was a precursor for things to come – as he was named the driver of the No. 8 Budweiser Chevrolet for the 2000 campaign.

ESPN.com is reporting Budweiser won't follow Earnhardt Jr. to Hendrick Motorsports next season. Several reports have indicated Pepsi is next in line to sponsor Earnhardt Jr. at Hendrick Motorsports, but nothing has been finalized. Budweiser could be looking at Kasey Kahne as it's next sponsor.
