The Dukes of Hazzard follows the adventures of cousins Bo Duke and Luke Duke, and their curvaceous cousing Daisy Duke, as they torment the hapless lawmen of Hazzard County in the hills of Georgia. The Dukes' Uncle Jesse, formerly the moonshine runner in Hazzard County, makes a deal with the government to stop the family trade in exchange for keeping the family out of jail.

Since leaving The Dukes of Hazzard in 1985, Bach has been clinging to Daisy Duke like a drowning man clinging to a lifesaver. The bulk of her post-Hazzard work has included forgettable credits like TV Road Trip, TV Land's Top Ten and the inevitable spate of third-rate Hazzard reunion shows. In other words, Bach has been spending more time living in the past than a history professor. Simpson, meanwhile, already has a number of lucrative projects lined up, including (regrettably) a new album.

Daisy Duke was the cheerfully buxom hillbilly cousin on the TV show The Dukes of Hazzard. The country-fried car-chase show was a prime-time hit from 1979-1985. Daisy mostly wore halter tops and extra-tight denim cutoffs (which became widely known as "Daisy Dukes"). Daisy was played by Catherine Bach; her cousins Bo and Luke Duke were played by John Schneider and Tom Wopat. In a 2005 feature film version of the story, Daisy was played by pop singer Jessica Simpson.

"The Dukes of Hazzard" may be getting stinky reviews, but some viewers will probably still enjoy Jessica Simpson's "method acting" as Daisy Duke. BarGeek.com has a cocktail named after the short-shorts-wearing Southern belle. The Daisy Duke calls for bourbon, Cointreau, lemon juice, simple syrup and club soda. One too many may elicit the proverbial "Yee-haw."
