Cytotec: Patients
built 674 days ago
Cytotec is a medication that is taken orally that helps soften and dilate the cervix so that the pregnancy can be removed. It is used alone or in conjunction with laminaria for 2nd trimester abortions. It can take from 1 ½ to 4 hours to produce the desired dilation. The patient generally stays in the office after she takes the cytotec as she may experience chills or a sensation of abdominal pressure and cramping.
