A 1997 study in Obstetrics & Gynecology reported that a 34-year-old woman without a prior C-section or uterine surgery had a uterine rupture and hysterectomy after receiving Cytotec. A 2001 study published in the Journal of Maternal-Fetal Medicine reported that a women with an unscarred uterus had a uterine rupture after being given Cytotec; her baby ... died. To date, no controlled clinical trials on this group of women have been published, doctors say.
