Cyclops is a totally legal driving aid using the latest GPS (Global Positioning Satellite) technology. Cyclops is a Max object for analyzing and tracking live video. Through a simple interface, Cyclops can track performers and users with a video camera and analyze greyscale and color information from the live image. The resulting data can used to generate control MIDI, audio and video in Max. Typical applications include tracking dancers or other performers on a stage, interacting with users in interactive installations, and creating video-tracking musical instruments and performance interfaces.

One hypothesis about the origin of the Cyclops’ single eye has its roots in the story that in ancient times, smiths wore an eye patch over one eye. This was to prevent them from being blinded in both eyes by flying sparks while working as smiths.

Cyclops made his first ever animated appearance on the 1966 Marvel Super Heroes episode of The Sub-Mariner with the original X-Men line-up (Angel, Beast, Iceman, and Jean Grey). [6] Cyclops's appeared in several episodes of the animated television series Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends. He appears in the episodes, "The Origin of Iceman", "A Firestar is Born", "The Education of a Superhero" and "The X-Men Adventure". George DiCenzo provided Cyclops' voice in "The X-Men Adventure" while Neil Ross provided Cyclops's voice in " A Firestar is Born". Cyclops appeared in the Pryde of the X-Men animated pilot.
