Appearing on magazine covers as print model Cybill Shepherd earned her first role when spotted by Peter Bogdanovich, the director of her debut film “The Last Picture Show”. Her role in the film seemed quite challenging as she was asked to appear as a sexual ingénue. The film required her to feature in some nude scenes, which were captured by the Playboy magazine and displayed on their pages. Since the snaps were taken without here consent she dragged the magazine court. Yet later they came to an outside the court settlement. Under the direction of Elaine May, Cybill Shepherd starred in The Heartbreak Kid (1972) opposite Charles Grodin.
