Crystal is a program analysis system for C written in Java. The system is aimed at making it easier to write program analyses by providing: a simple, canonical representation of the program; standard program analyses such as pointer analysis; and support for whole-program analysis. Quicksilver and Crystal have had a rocky marriage. Pietro has always had a quick temper and Crystal had once had an affair with a real estate agent named Norman Webster. She and the Human Torch still had feelings for each other during his supposed marriage to Alicia Masters (later revealed to be a Skrull named Lyja merely pretending to be Alicia). She ... developed feelings for Dane Whitman, the Black Knight but nothing physical came from it. These reasons have caused them to separate several times, egged on by Maximus the Mad taking credit for Pietro's descent into madness. One such reconciliation attempt occurred in a small town, in a rented cabin, where Crystal had to urge Quicksilver to 'go slow'. Unfortunately, even this was affected by outside forces.

Nov 18, 2004: Crystal has a new look! The user interface has been redesigned for a cleaner and sharper appearance. Download the latest version of Crystal. Note the version number for Crystal has not changed in this update since only the appearance has changed. Also note this update is only available for Windows VST and Mac AU users, the Mac VST version will come later.

Crystal eventually returned to New York and served as a substitute member of the Fantastic Four during the Invisible Girl's first pregnancy and post-childbirth. Crystal was forced to return to Attilan when her health became impaired by prolonged exposure to pollutants in the atmosphere. However, enroute to Attilan, Crystal became a pawn in a plan by the alchemist Diablo, and then happened upon the mutant Quicksilver, who had been wounded in battle with the Sentinels. She brought Quicksilver back to Attilan, nursed him back to health, and became romantically involved with him. The Human Torch soon learned of Crystal's change in affections, and after a futile battle with Quicksilver, terminated his relationship with her. Crystal and Quicksilver were wed shortly thereafter, theirs being the first marriage between an Inhuman and a human (albeit a human mutant) in recorded history.
