   If Young had been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for his work with Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young in 1997, he would have been the first person inducted on three separate occasions. Currently the only person with this honor is Eric Clapton, who achieved his third induction in 2000.

   LOS ANGELES, Jan. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame artist and legendary guitarist Stephen Stills was successfully operated on today for prostate cancer in Los Angeles. "Stephen's procedure went remarkably well and he couldn't be better. He will be home by noon tomorrow and the pain will be minimal," his wife Kristen Stills said.

   Listening to these Stephen Stills demo tapes is a lot like seeing a really beautiful human being for the first time. One initially notices the flaws: one eye may appear slightly larger than the other, the nose seems a little off, the cheeks are a bit puffy, etc. But then it hits you. That person is truly gorgeous. The Stills recordings have the same effect: one hears the static fuzz of the acoustic guitar recorded too close to the microphone, some of the songs seem to be snippets rather than complete entities, sometimes the hiss of the tapes bleed through, etc. But then it hits you. These are truly stunning songs.

   Fans can ... celebrate the release of Sir Ivan's highly anticipated new single "For What It's Worth". The rock-dance remake of the Buffalo Springfield Classic, written by Stephen Stills, is as timely today as it was in the 60's. While Sir Ivan is known for his trademark "technippy" music, techno tracks with hippy lyrics, this new song is Sir Ivan's first featuring live guitar. Although it has a rock edge, house music and progressive trance fans will appreciate the remixes by dance music's finest -- Noel Sanger and Giuseppe D. "For What It's Worth" was produced by the legendary FORD, a welcome addition to Sir Ivan's creative team.
5. Neil Young
   Neil Young is one of rock and roll’s greatest songwriters and performers. In a career that extends back to his mid-Sixties roots as a coffeehouse folkie in his native Canada, this principled and unpredictable maverick has pursued an often winding course across the rock and roll landscape. He’s been a cult hero, a chart-topping rock star, and all things in-between, remaining true to his restless muse all the while. At various times, Young has delved into folk, country, garage-rock and grunge. His biggest album, Harvest (1972) , apotheosized the laid-back singer/songwriter genre he helped invent. By contrast, Rust Never Sleeps (1979), Young’s second-best seller, was a loud, brawling masterpiece whose title track, an homage to Johnny Rotten of the Sex Pistols, contained the oft-quoted line “Better to burn out than it is to rust.”

   Over the years, Neil Young has made excursions into country, blues, electro, rockabilly, and soul. Early in his career, he formed the band Buffalo Springfield with Stephen Stills. He was then part of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young — which eventually morphed into Crosby, Stills and Nash when Young embarked on a solo career.

   By 1975, Neil Young was the redneckiest hick in Alabama and Stephen Stills was a coke-snorting L.A. lounge jazz adulterer. What good did they think would arise from this collaboration? While Neil was in a pasture literally writing all of his lyrics on piles of hardened cow dung, Stephen was hanging out with Steely Dan, balling strippers in a rooftop jacuzzi and lighting joints with hundred dollar bills. The resultant album is so schizophrenic, you'll sure it was sexually brutalized dozens of times as a young 7". This isn't helped by the fact that it goes Neil song/Steve song/Neil song/Steve song like the producer was making them sit boy-girl in the studio or something (though I'm not denying there were likely hundreds of daisy chains taking place during the sessions).
8. Neil Young -- Toronto Sun
   Neil Young was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada to sportswriter and novelist Scott Young and Rassy Ragland, who had moved to Toronto from their family home of Manitoba to pursue a sport journalism career. Neil spent his early years in the small country town of Omemee, in southern Ontario (130 km northeast of Toronto). He was diagnosed with diabetes as a child[5] and a bout of polio at the age of 6 left him with a weakened left side; he still walks with a slight limp.
9. Pearl Jam -- Neil Young
   In addition to the already-announced Pearl Jam, Neil Young's Bridge School Benefit will ... feature Paul McCartney, Lucinda Williams, and Crosby, Stills and Nash. The benefit will be held at Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, Calif., on Oct. 30 and 31. Young will inevitably join CS&N onstage. More acts should be announced shortly."
10. Neil Young -- Bands
    Neil Young is a sometime member of the folk rock supergroup Crosby, Stills & Nash (once again proving his flip-flopping nature). They proudly support activist politics and are clearly associated with what is known as The Woodstock Nation. Sadly, Young, nor any other member of the band, have yet to apologise for Woodstock. One member of the supergroup and known associate of Young (David Crosby) has even fathered a baby by two famous Hollywood lesbians. While that is kind of hot, it's still against the teachings of the Bible.
