Beach side café in Rovinj Local dishes are depicted by Croatia’s history, with strong Italian and Austrian influences. Expect to find freshly grilled fish, soups and stews on the coast, and pastas, wild boar and truffles further inland. Istrian hospitality has evolved into a tradition that is widely shared with visitors enjoying a villa holiday. Rural estates offer dishes prepared in the traditional style of ancient recipes - washed down with locally brewed beer and wonderful wines that you can either enjoy there or in the comfort of your own private villa. A simple sign ‘vino’ means you are passing an area rich in farms and tasting houses.

montengro holiday island Although perhaps less well known than Croatia, Montenegro holidays are equally impressive for awesome natural beauty and stunning architecture. For decades the picture perfect towns of Montenegro have attracted illustrious visitors to the gentle shores. Clear blue waters wash the coastline and just like Croatia, Montenegro holidays offer an abundance of natural splendour with rivers, lakes and mountains playing an impresive supporting role to the gorgeous beaches along the Budva Riviera.
Map: Croatia Morning comes early off the coast of Croatia. In the slight shade of a 14th-century church and a pair of olive trees, we wake on a remote island in the heart of Kornati National Park. Above our ca mp, on the simple wooden door of the church, is painted the dedication, "Kraljice Mora Moli Za Nas—Queen Mother of the Sea, Pray for Us."
