Criss Angel is the host of Mindfreak, a TV show on Discovery Channel. It has been running for a few years, and I’m very impressed by this talented young man. He is basically a money-making icon, using magic tricks, illusions and stunts as a guise. To create such a variety of performances, one needs an awful lot of creativity or many great minds at work.

Suburban New York native Criss Angel began cultivating an interest in music and in magic at an early age. He began by performing tricks for his family, but soon moved on to showcasing his abilities at nightclubs. He ... formed a band called AngelDust, and played in local bars and clubs. Eventually, Angel's skill and notoriety as an illusionist earned him a gig in the World of Illusion show at Madison Square Garden in 1998. This led to his own show on Broadway, which he called Mindfreak. After some of his performances were taped and made into TV specials, he was offered his own show, which had the same title.

At one point while reminiscing over some childhood photos, Criss Angel is transported from Los Angeles to New York where he performs a trick that’s a real treat for children at his front door. Criss Angel then culminates his trip to New York with a sentimental visit to Houdini’s grave on the 79th anniversary of the legendary magician’s death – Halloween, 1926. At the cemetery, Houdini’s spirit appears as strange events occur.

Criss Angel had spent the last two weeks claiming he was hanging out with Britney Spears in order to help the hot mess with an illusion for her performance. But all the audience saw were a few minutes of awful lip synching and lackadaisical dancing.
