Offering a Position - Criminal background checks may be completed prior to making an offer of employment. If a check is not completed before an offer is made, the check must be completed prior to commencement of employment, except in special cases approved by the Director of Human Resources or designee. In most cases, only the applicant being offered the position will be checked. However, there may be circumstances where more than one applicant is checked.
