One contention, that retailers themselves should surcharge or discourage credit transactions, is now conceded to be an unlikely expectation. Similarly, lingering issues of regulatory equity schemes, such as American Express and Diners Club, operating without interchange fees may be better addressed by taxing as personal income flyer-point rewards left in the hands of employees that accrue from spending on business accounts.

You should ... keep a list of all your credit cards and account information along with the card issuer's contact information. If anything looks suspicious or you lose your credit card(s) you should contact the card issuer immediately.

Remember that cardholders can contest any fraudulent charge and get immediate credit back to their account. If you thnk the bank or the processor absorb that loss - think again. The on line merchant eats those costs AND looses the product or service AND gets a charge back fee levied.
