Crash Bash
built 635 days ago
The playable characters in Crash Bash are Crash, Coco, Cortex, N. Brio, Tiny, Koala Kong, Dingodile and a new character called Rilla Roo, who is a combination of a gorilla and a kangaroo. The characters are split into four main "types", which give them differing abilities within certain minigames. Papu Papu, The Komodo Brothers, and Nitros Oxide return as the game's bosses, as well as a giant polar bear in a submarine known as The Bearminator.

Whether you were there for the movies, the dancing, or the alcohol, Crash Bash was an evening to remember. Where else could you expect to see a thoroughly sloshed Captain Jack Sparrow canoodling with the Hamburglar while Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer blares menacingly in the background? It was quite the way to spend that wildest and spookiest of holidays, Halloween. Can't wait for next year.

The graphics in Crash Bash are colorful, simple, and fast. The style is very similar to the previous Crash Bandicoot games, even though the original developer, Naughty Dog, has nothing to do with this Crash game. There aren't any fancy effects, but the character animations and the settings make for good eye candy. The popping audio tracks are simple, but bounce along with the games well enough.

Taking a departure from the platforming genre, Crash Bash is a party game very similar to Nintendo 64's Mario Party. Up to four players compete in a series of mini-games where the objective is to eliminate the other players. Although Naughty Dog produced the other Crash Bandicoot games, they've taken a break this time around; Eurocom took development duties. ~ Matthew House, All Game Guide

In Crash Bash, for the contest between good and evil, Brio is summoned by Uka Uka to play for the side of evil. It is hinted in the PAL version of the instruction manual that he may have been the creator of Dingodile. Brio did not return again until Crash Twinsanity, when he teamed up with Doctor Nefarious Tropy to defeat Cortex and gain the Evil Twins' treasure. He appears alongside Tropy in a boss fight, immediately following Crash's escape from N. Gin's battleship, in which Brio (after being instructed by N. Tropy to "get changed") drinks a potion to transform himself into a large, green frog-like monster. He then appeared (in his human form) alongside N. Tropy and N. Gin again in the Evil Twins' fortress, claiming the treasure for themselves. However, they were thwarted by Spyro, who had been trapped in the Twins' vault.

After supposedly taking a break on the South Seas, Koala Kong returned to Doctor Cortex in the party game Crash Bash, in which Kong plays on Uka Uka's team. He attacks with a powerful kick in the "Crate Crush" levels, and can throw just as far as Tiny. Crash Bash serves as Kong's only "speaking role", with Kong emitting loud roaring noises in the game. Unlike the other characters, these roars were kept in the Japanese version (the other characters had voice-overs).
