According to Jim star Courtney Thorne-Smith, 39, has written her first book, Outside In (Broadway Books, $23.95), in stores this week. It tells the tale of an actress, Kate Keyes-Morgan, who struggles with her body image on the set of her prime-time soap, Generations. Though Thorne-Smith, who is expecting her first child at year's end with second husband Roger Fishman, says her book is fiction, she can't deny being inspired by her years as a weight-conscious actress on Melrose Place and Ally McBeal.
