For 24 straight hours, Courtney Love will be in control of MTV2, according to Hits Daily Double. She'll play the videos she likes, invite her friends over for an on-camera jab fest and do whatever else she pleases, the network said. "MTV2 has always been home to a variety of artists,'' said David Cohn, MTV2 General Manager. "So much so, we wanted to let them move in, and we are thrilled to give Courtney the first set of keys." This is the first time the network has relinquished control to an artist for a day, representatives said. Love won't even need to stay awake the entire 24 hours.

Courtney Love (born Love Michelle Harrison on July 9, 1964, name changed to Courtney Michelle Harrison in 1967) was the singer for the now-defunct band Hole. Love is now a solo artist, and is ... an occasional model and actress. Love is the widow of Kurt Cobain (1967–1994), lead singer of the band Nirvana. With him she has one daughter, Frances Bean Cobain, whose custody was denied to her in 2003 for drug consumption and other behavior.

Courtney Love has staked a claim as one of the more controversial and outrageous figures in modern rock. Born in San Francisco, Love spent time in Oregon, Ireland, Japan and England, before moving to Los Angeles, where she landed roles in the Alex Cox films Sid and Nancy and Straight to Hell. She then moved to Minneapolis where she formed the riot grrrl band Babes in Toyland with Kat Bjelland; she was eventually thrown out of the group. After a brief stint as a stripper in Alaska, Love returned to Los Angeles and started the band Hole in 1989 with guitarist Eric Erlandson, bassist Jill Emery and drummer Caroline Rue. Holes debut album, Pretty on the Inside, was released in 1991, and Love married Nirvanas Kurt Cobain in 1992; later that same year, Love and Cobains daughter, Frances Bean Cobain, was born. For Holes next record, Love replaced Jill Emery and Caroline Rue with bassist Kristin Pfaff and drummer Patty Schemel.

Courtney Love's parents divorced when she was 2, and her mother, a semi-famous psychologist, remarried twice. Love was Love's first name, but her mother had it changed to Courtney. Details of Love's early years remain publicly vague, as her answers to personal questions have varied wildly. It's generally acknowledged that her father was ordered by a court to have no contact with Love; that she spent time in a reform school for girls; and that she was emancipated from her mother at 16. After that, Love lived off a trust fund established by her maternal grandmother, and earned extra income as a stripper. Love was in Babes in Toyland and Faith No More, long before either band made it big.

Just recently, bikini photos of rocker/actress Courtney Love were posted on the internet as she was taking a vacation in Hawaii. Many people were shocked at Love’s sudden weight loss. The new slim-line look just caught people off-guard. Something surgical must be behind the sudden change; not to mention the unsightly ripples on Love’s tummy. Media reports suggest that she had a gastric band surgery.
