The concept for what is now The Ultimate Game at The PGA West Stadium Course was born more than 10 years ago. All-Pro NFL quarterback Steve Bartkowski and friends were watching a PGA TOUR event in which one of the pros appeared pressured to sink a six-foot putt: "That's not pressure. If he finishes second, who cares? His money isn't on the line. Pressure is when you have to sink a six-footer to win a $100 Nassau, and it's your $100," Bartkowski's friend said. From there, the concept of golfers playing for their own money was born.

Youth on Course ensures youth age 5-17 with life skills education pay an average of only $2 for a round of golf at 70 participating courses throughout the region. More importantly, the program serves as a building block for deserving youth who have participated in a First Tee or similar life skills program. Kids have the opportunity to use their life skills training on the golf course while they build a passion for the game that will hopefully last a lifetime. Children build self-esteem wile demonstrating honesty, respect, perseverance and courtesy; all characteristics inherent in golf.

A Course Management System (CMS) can be accessed on or off Campus. Courses@dordt is a course managed website where students are able to access a professor’s course material, join a discussion or chat group, listen to language CDs, check their grades, take quizzes/tests, view art work, or access a PowerPoint presentation. Courses@dordt provides anytime-anywhere options for independent study that compliments face-to-face-instruction. It is a technology tool used to enhance classroom teaching.

The Ultimate Game at The PGA West Stadium Course is ... adding a series of play-in tournaments, including one in Europe, Feb. 5-8, 2008, at the San Roque Golf Club in Spain. Dates and places for play-in tournaments in the United States with an entry fee of $10,000 will be announced in the near future. Winning two matches earns the entry fee back, and winning just three matches ensures a place in The Ultimate Game at The PGA West Stadium Course.
