Costco has been a blessing for Mormon families everywhere. It was originally a supplier of anything that falls under the categories of Electronic, Necessary, and/or Delicious. It has since come to ... sell tires. Costcim also contain eateries, where dairy products, chicken, and dough are served in 86% of all their forms. Costco was not created, as some claim, to sell wholesale products. Rather, the giant crates of various products they have become famous for are simply for smiting their enemies.

Costco is all about selling arcade machines now. Could it be because Target started selling them? Could be. Except readers are saying the Target ones are puny and suck. Costco's better not suck with their system costing $2500. The full sized cocktail version is available for those who prefer the old-school Ms. Pac Man feel of games.

Costco Wholesale Corp. reported earnings results for the second quarter and first half ended February 17, 2008. Net sales for the second quarter of fiscal 2008 increased 12% to $16.62 billion, from $14.80 billion during the second quarter of fiscal 2007. Excluding the sales returns reserve increase, net sales for the second quarter of fiscal 2007 were $15.03 billion. Net income for the second quarter of fiscal 2008 was $327.9 million, or $0.74 per diluted share, compared to $249.5 million, or $0.54 per diluted share, during the second quarter of fiscal 2007. Included in last year's second quarter results were three non-recurring items. Excluding these items, which combined to an $84.4 million pre-tax charge ($53.4 million after-tax), second quarter fiscal 2007 net income would have been $302.9 million, or $0.66 per diluted share.

In October 2003, Costco began construction on a 148,665-square-foot wholesale store, tire center, gas station and parking lot on the Clark County Wetlands. Initially, almost 11 acres of the Costco’s prospective building site were categorized as wetlands and therefore entitled to federal protection. According to The Columbian, a Vancouver publication, a controversial Supreme Court ruling over the prairie potholes in the Upper Midwest Cost, which stated the Clean Water Act does not apply to “isolated wetlands,†or those wetlands not connected to navigable waters, led the Corps to conclude it lacks the jurisdiction to preclude development. Under the Clean Air Act, the Army Corps of Engineers has been given the right to approve permits to fill wetlands. Based upon the aforementioned supreme court ruling, the Corps granted Costco permission to begin construction on the Clark County Wetlands site and the company began building a discount store and parking lot on top of the Clark County wetlands, which hold and filter storm water and provide a transportation corridor for some 100 species of birds, mammals and other animals.
