Most notable of the deep-sky objects in Corvus is NGC 4038-4039, the Ring-tail Galaxy, or the Antennae. A representative of the two percent of all known galaxies called peculiar galaxies, this object is formed by two interlocking structures. The stars involved in a collision of galaxies do not themselves collide, for they are separated by immense distances. However, in such a crash the atoms of the gas and dust clouds do collide, forming pockets of very dense material from which new stars are born. Hubble Space Telescope photos prove that the Antennae is an excellent laboratory for studying the formation of stars and star clusters since it is the nearest and youngest example of a pair of colliding galaxies.
Corvus is the Latin name for both the raven and the crow and these two birds are usually paired together in mythology. From the same family, their obvious intelligence and ingenuity, as well as their distinctive caw, has given them a widespread association with trickery, storytelling, the relaying of messages, and the serving of self-interest. But the colour of their plumage has ... drawn a universal connection with malevolence, sinister forces, and ominous warnings. The stars of Corvus share this reputation and the classical myths that relate to the constellation speak of mistrust, shameful motives, insincerity, glorification in the misfortune of others, and the bearing of bad news.

In 2005 Corvus Corax started the ambitious project "Cantus Buranus": a full-length opera set to the original Carmina Burana manuscript lyrics. The music for the opera was fully composed by the band and had no connection with the famous work by Carl Orff. It was performed with symphonic orchestra, choir and medieval ensemble, combining traditional symphonism with medieval minstrel-like melodies. The project included a CD recording, a DVD, as well as live performances. A live CD and DVD recording of Cantus Buranus was released in March 2006.
Already in the mid 80s the Corvus Corax minstrels were roaming as street performers throughout the country (East Germany). They found fragments of medieval-secular music in old writings and reworked them, in a completely new way. Many medieval bands have sought to emulate the style of Corvus Corax and there is certainly no medieval market in Germany where the songs from Corvus Corax are not played. The 5 bag pipe players and 3 percussionists of Corvus Corax have created an unmistakable sound, which unites the haunting medieval melodies with hypnotic dance rhythms and drives audiences wild every time they play. Corvus Corax have long been acclaimed for their legendary concerts and few can avoid getting caught up in the ecstatic power of their acoustic performance in their fantastic self-created costumes.
After recovering from her injury, Corvus was recruited by the Sykes Group, a private military and security firm. Prized for her marksmanship, they trained her in hand-to-hand combat, communications and stealth maneuvers. She served briefly in Sierra Leone, escorting American diamond traders. In early 2003, she went into Iraq ahead of US forces to protect vital private interests. During a mission in Falluja, Corvus intercepted a rebel attack, rescuing Corporal Patrick Shanihan. While driving him back to his base, their jeep hit an IED.
