In 1987 model year, the Chevrolet Corsica was originally produced as a 4 door sedan aimed to be a fleet rental vehicle. The following year, it became the second best-selling car in America, along with the Beretta. A four-door Corsica hatchback and a sporty LTZ equipped with features like that of the Beretta were added for model year 1989. The compact Corsica sedan and hatchback gained a more sedate audience.
