Cork Flooring: Woods
built 290 days ago
The cork flooring comes in a variety of patterns and sizes. It is easy to cut using a standard razor knife. Once the flooring is down, you can coat it with a urethane wood finish. A clear, water based urethane will dry in as little as an hour. So you can apply multiple coats in a single day.
You install cork flooring by either gluing it down to the ground or nailing it. You can lay it down on top of concrete or wood. You need to ensure your subfloor is dry before you put it down. Make sure you paint a sealant down before you lay down the cork flooring so it can be less moist. You can ... get tiles of the peel and stick variety too,. These are super easy to lay down.
Most cork floors are "floating," meaning you will not be troubled with nails or glue and can likely install it yourself in a day. Traditional wood floors (cork can mimic the wood look or be designed for whatever taste you prefer), even the floating kinds, often require precise cutting and a knack for matching seams tightly. Cork, on the other hand, cuts easily and is set on fiberboard with snapping tongue-and-groove slots. Many wood floors, while tongue-and-groove, still do not snap into place. [more]
