built 630 days ago
Constantine is the newest adventure game from Bits and THQ. It will be based on the huge Warner Brother's Movie coming out in early 2005 starring Keanu Reeves who will play the main character, John Constantine. For those who know their comic books, yes, this is based on the DC comic series written by Alan Moore. Fans will know the series as Hellblazer. The story is about a guy who is not your typical comic hero. In fact he is part thief, mage and con artist.

Constantine John Constantine (Keanu Reeves) is a private investigator who believes in things that go bump in the night -- which makes him somewhat of an eccentric in a world ruled primarily by logic. So, it comes as a surprise to him when a female cop (Rachel Weisz) seeks his counsel after her twin sister dies in what first appears to be a suicide. She wants definitive proof of the cause of death … but the answers may only come with blind faith on her part.

Constantine John Constantine (Keanu Reeves) has the unique ability to see the half-breed angels and demons that disguise themselves as humans and walk the Earth. These visions nearly drove him insane, and they led him to attempt suicide and become close friends with the bottle. Now destined to patrol the border between heaven and hell... known as Los Angeles, Constantine works to save people's souls. His latest task: helping a police detective (Rachel Weisz) solve the mysterious death of her twin sister.

Constantine Still, while Constantine works reasonably well as an energetic effects-fest like Hellboy or Van Helsing, virtually anyone but Reeves would have made a better John Constantine. Swinton is terrific, Holes' Shia LaBeouf makes the most of a thankless role as Reeves' hapless apprentice, and even Weisz at least seems to believe in her character, but Reeves is a wooden icon where the story demands a complex and sympathetic figure. His rigid delivery makes Constantine's occult backstory sound pretentious and silly, and converts Constantine himself into a repressed cipher. The film's biggest revision isn't in not making him blonde, or not making him British. It's in not making him human.

Based on the DC Comics/Vertigo Hellblazer graphic novels, the supernatural thriller Constantine tells the story of John Constantine (Keanu Reeves), a man who has literally been to hell and back. When he teams up with sceptical policewoman Angela Dodson (Rachel Weisz) to solve the mysterious suicide of her twin sister, their investigation takes them through the world of demons and angels that exists just beneath the landscape of contemporary Los Angeles. Caught in a catastrophic series of otherworldly events, the two become inextricably involved and seek to find their own peace at whatever cost.

Constantine, Michigan Constantine is located in the township of the same name in the southwest corner of Saint Joseph County. This very picturesque town on the St. Joseph River contains many Victorian, turn-of-the-century style buildings blended in an old style design with a park on the river across from a dam. This town was named after Constantine the Great in 1835 by businessman and lawyer, Niles F. Smith. It was settled in the late 1820’s and incorporated in 1837. The first postmaster who started here in 1835 was John S. Barry, who later became governor of Michigan serving 3 terms. Today, Constantine retains its small town atmosphere, with several dozen interesting shops, businesses and restaurants.
